Bozeman Symphony Presents Iconic Beethoven’s Violin Concerto

Bozeman, Mont. – The Bozeman Symphony invites audiences to experience a weekend of extraordinary music as Concertmaster Carrie Krause takes center stage to perform Beethoven’s legendary Violin Concerto on March 22-23 at the Willson Auditorium in downtown Bozeman.

Renowned for its soaring melodies and profound lyricism, Beethoven’s Violin Concerto is one of the most celebrated works in the repertoire. Krause, praised by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer for her “elegant” and “sparkling” performances, brings her exceptional artistry to this masterwork. An acclaimed soloist, she has performed with the Fairbanks Symphony, Casper Symphony, String Orchestra of the Rockies, Battle Creek Symphony, and Billings Symphony.

Beyond her role as the Symphony’s Concertmaster, Krause is a sought-after guest concertmaster, collaborating with Bravo! Big Sky, Helena Symphony, and Billings Symphony. She has also performed with the Montana Chamber Music Society, Strings Music Festival in Steamboat Springs, and the Grammy Award-winning PBS series 11th & Grant. A dedicated advocate for music education, she is the artistic director of Baroque Music Montana and the founder of the Second String Orchestra and Bozeman Chamber Ensembles for youth.

The program continues with George Walker’s deeply moving Lyric for Strings, a heartfelt tribute to the composer’s grandmother, who escaped slavery. The evening concludes with Felix Mendelssohn’s vibrant Symphony No. 4 (Italian), a musical postcard from his travels through Italy, brimming with energy and warmth.

Performances are on Saturday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 23, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets start at $29 and are available at https://www.bozemansymphony.org/beethovens-violin-concerto or by calling 406-585-9774. Discounted student tickets are offered and tickets may also be available at the door.

The Bozeman Symphony extends its gratitude to the generous sponsors who made this concert possible:  Cal & Tricia DeSouza, Gary Kunis & Connie Wong, and ERA Landmark-Robyn Erlenbush.
