Community Programs

Connecting Music and Musicians to Residents

The Bozeman Symphony’s community engagement programs reach beyond the stage and into the communities in and around Bozeman. A broad array of high-quality musical offerings provides families, patients, and individuals with opportunities to experience classical music. Our free programs designed for every age and listener aim to create and strengthen connections between the Symphony and communities throughout the Greater Yellowstone region, spreading the love and joy of music to everyone.

Far Afield

For more than 30 years, the Bozeman Symphony has brought music to the hearts and minds of countless individuals not only in Bozeman but also to rural areas throughout the Greater Yellowstone region with our Far Afield community outreach program.

The Bozeman Symphony annually offers Far Afield programs to provide rural and underserved communities access to professional classical chamber music performances to inspire, engage, unite, and uplift people around Montana.

Community Concerts with Befrienders

Recognizing the positive impact of music and social connection on mental and emotional health, Community Concerts with Befrienders are professional chamber music performances especially for rural and senior communities. These engagements use music to bring people together, improve quality of life, and build community connections that uplift people in the Gallatin Valley.

Free Family Concert

Family Concerts are a perfect introduction to classical music for children and a delightful journey for adults. Each year, the Bozeman Symphony offers a free concert for the community, and both performances generally sell out, serving more than 2,000 people.

Memory Care

The Memory Care project is a unique way to improve quality of life, enrich daily life, and benefit memory care patients’ cognitive functions. In collaboration with family members and caregivers, the Bozeman Symphony curates engagements utilizing music that is meaningful to each patient in attendance. A non-traditional approach to memory care, this project can stimulate reactions in the brain responsible for memory, attention span, and executive function, enhancing interactions between patients and their loved ones.

This program is made possible through the generous support of Bozeman Health.

Joy Program

The Joy Program is a collaboration between the Bozeman Symphony and Bozeman Health. Musicians from the Bozeman Symphony perform for patients and their loved ones at Bozeman Health facilities to reduce stress and anxiety, provide comfort, and spread joy to patients of all ages.
